Jon Gosselin Halts Divorce & Production on TLC’s Kate Plus 8

On the heels of learning he was dropped from the TLC reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8, and that the show would be renamed Kate Plus 8, and focus on Kate’s role as a single mom, Jon Gosselin put the brakes on his divorce and put TLC on notice to “cease and desist” any television production of the show.

Gosselin came forward with an apology for his post-split behavior, and filed paperwork to halt the divorce proceedings for 90 days. The decision was not an “emotional or romantic decision,” nor an attempt to reconcile with Kate, but part of a “legal and PR strategy,” according to sources.

A notice sent to TLC lawyers on the same day of the network’s announcement that the show would be renamed states:

“Effective immediately no production crews are to enter Jon Gosselin’s family home for any reason. In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authority to effectuate Police action against any trespassers.”

Thursday morning, a sign was posted on the gate of the Gosselin family home in Wernersville, PA, reading:

NOTICE
NO FILM CREW OR
PRODUCTION STAFF
FROM TLC IS
PERMITTED ON THIS
PROPERTY UNDER
PENALTY OF TRESPASS

JONATHON GOSSELIN

Gosselin’s attorney Mark Jay Heller explains that Jon is concerned the show is affecting the well-being of his children, and that the children are not being compensated.

Funny how he wasn’t worried about how it was affecting his children’s well-being and lack of compensation prior to being dropped from the show, when he was jet-setting with his rotating girlfriends.
